A Bible Study is scheduled for Sunday (2:00 PM) at Jim Johnston’s home.  Also, a Bible Study is scheduled at Chis Nelson’s on Wednesday at 6:00 PM.

From Jim Franks:

The official groundbreaking for the new office building has been moved to 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 22, instead of 9 a.m. as originally announced. The weather here in Dallas has been very cold in the morning but much warmer by the afternoon. Monday should be similar—temperatures in the 30s in the morning, but in the 50s by the afternoon. The location of the sun in the afternoon will also be better for pictures and video. Since we previously announced 9 a.m., I wanted to make sure everyone received notification of this time change.

From David Johnson:

Our thanks to those who have so enthusiastically supported the Foundation Institute Continuing Education Seminars. When registration opened at 10 this past Sunday morning, the June session reached capacity in 3 minutes and the July session was filled in 46 minutes. As it stands now, we will have participants from 17 different states, as well as from Barbados and Chile.

We currently have 21 people on the waiting list, so there is little possibility that any who register now will be able to attend this year.

We hope that those who were not accepted this year will be able to attend next year when we will be in our new facility and have room for a few more.

Greetings from Allen, Texas!

Foundation Outreach International and the Church would like to announce an opportunity for up to four young adults to serve in two different educational projects in late July/early August in the African countries of Zambia and Zimbabwe! For each of these projects, we are looking for two young adults from the Church of God, a Worldwide Association, who are interested in serving brethren in these developing countries. Each project will be a total of 12 to 14 days in length. For both the Zambian and Zimbabwean projects, volunteers will teach English to our brethren in the rural areas of those countries.

We recommend you visit the FOI website (accessible from the COGWA members’ website). If you are seriously interested in either of these unique service projects, please pick up copies of both the fact sheet (which details requirements, dates and costs) and the ATTACHED FULL application. Note: Please submit this FULL APPLICATION (available at the information table or attached to this email). DO NOT submit the short, interest application from the website. The deadline for applying is April 8, 2018, so get your application in soon!

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Doug Horchak at

Thank you all very much!

Join us tonight, Friday evening, Jan. 19, for our “Friday Night Live” webcast Bible study, which will begin at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (7 p.m. Central, 6 p.m. Mountain and 5 p.m. Pacific).

This month’s study, presented by Dave Myers, is titled “The Deciding Decade: Why Your 20s Are Important and What to Do With Them.” Our 20s. Are they a time of freedom, travel, exploration and fun? Or are they a critical time to set our life’s course and lay our foundation for the future? Or are they both? We invite our older teens, our 20-something young adults, and those beyond to discover how we might best use this deciding decade of our lives. Please join Dave Myers as we explore the deciding decade.

That’s tonight, Jan. 19, at 8 p.m. Eastern time, for Friday Night Live.
